Donkfest 2007

OK, it was a donkfest-almost-freeroll, but I play these things to test my mettle at MTTs and to get more practice dealing with the adversity that comes with large fields. I'm really happy with my showing here.

Plus, I made a whopping $0.33 for my effort. W00t!

4400+ entered. I placed 87th.

Freerolls or low FPP point games are mostly ridiculous for the first hour or so. It's essentially a push fest to try to build up a quick huge pot. About 1/4th of the field is usually sitting out (probably to avoid the frequent early donk moves).

Sometimes I think that just sitting out and playing only AA, KK, QQ or AK if it ever comes up is key to survive. If you never play a hand you can usually end up in the top 1/3rd of the field.

Getting into the money in these games takes some luck for sure, but if you have the patience you can get close to the money often.
